Happily ever after

"My heart is forever at your service."
- Shakespeare

Whoa. It was a fairly emotional week getting ready for Memorial wknd. (Also the five month anniversary.) Didn't think it'd be this hard but it's been a little intense. Like the rocket scientiest/brain surgeon I am, I started to work on the scrapbook of funeral pictures earlier in the week. That really helped a lot too. You'd think I was smarter than this, but no. Garrett and I went to the cemtery Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon. For being a little, local cemetery, Riverton does a great job. It looked fabulous for the weekend. Garrett loved putting flowers out and seeing all the flags. I'm still amazed at how everything I see seems to link back to Jade one way or another. (For those of you familiar with pop culture, it's like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.) There are reminders and connections everywhere to Jade. In a way that's nice but this week it was bittersweet.

Overall, Garrett and I are doing ok. Trying to get into the swing of summer with trips to the zoo, play dates at the park and weeding our garden. Garrett ate the first strawberry from the garden last week. He dutifully checks on the peas, tomatoes, corn, and pumpkins to see if they're ready yet. June is getting booked and busy and I'm sure July will be the same way. Guess that's good, but I love quiet days too.

"There are three parts to the plan. You are in the second or the middle part, the one in which you will be tested by temptation, by trials, perhaps by tragedy . . . . Remember this! The line 'And they all lived happily ever after' is never written into the second act [of a play]. That line belongs in the third act, when the mysteries are solved and everything is put right . . . . " - Boyd K. Packer

Just wanted to send a quick note saying HI and giving a quick update. Hope you had a safe holiday wknd. Thanks for your love and friendship. Take care!
