Day One

Howdy from the "Tired, But Hanging-In-There Composer"
of generic emails. Jade had his first day of chemo.
In addition to the three chemicals they gave him he
also had basic fluids, anti-nausea and Mesna (sp?) to
help protect his kidneys and bladder. He was there
from 8:30 to about 2:30 today. He did pretty good
today and was able to come home a short time ago and
have a snack and is watching a movie. He is
encouraged to finally be starting to zap the bad guys.
It's hard to believe that we're not even four weeks
from when we met with our family practitioner and he
told us we had a 50-50 chance of the mass being
malignant. What a whirlwind our life has been the
past month. Home health will be coming tonight to
give more anti-nausea drugs and fluids and Jade will
take three oral anti-nausea meds. We are so thankful
for your emails, cards and voice mails. We seem to
absorb the encouragement, faith and hope to keep us
recharged. Thanks so much! Jade has chemo Thurs and
again on Fri and then only follow-up appts (oncology,
bone marrow coordination, catheter/port) for the next
three weeks till he does Round Two of Chemo the first
week in May. Enjoy the spring weather (for those of
you in Utah.....) and thanks again for your faith,
prayers, positive energy and hope. We are forever
indebted. Love.....Tanya and co.
