Fingers Crossed

Hey everybody. It's Sat and I'm about to leave and go to the hospital. Another crazy couple days - - what other kind are there anymore?

Since the last email Jade has continued to have his fever. Thursday it never got below 100 to 101 and spent most of the day around 104. They had to cool his room down, give him Tylenol and pack him in ice to get it to finally start to go down. By late Thurs it was coming down slowly and by Fri mid-morning was back to about 99. Fri night it was on the rise again. They have done multiple cultures with all results coming back negative (which is good news other than it's a mystery what the cause of the infection is.)

Jade still has no interest in food. No major mouth sores yet but his digestive system is still in complete upheaval. He is sleeping ok at nights. When his fever was so high on Thurs he dozed in and out of it most of the day. He was more awake/alert/talkative on Fri though.

Jade had to have another platelet transfusion (first one was on Thurs) on Fri since his fever burned off about half of the platelets he was given the day before. They may have to do another blood transfusion today depending on his hermatocrit count. On Fri his white count was at .1 which is a new record for him. They will start the neupogen shots on Sunday to help boost his white count/immune system.

It's definitely a roller coaster which is normal with this kind of procedure. He talks to Garrett on the phone and we're hoping Jade feels well enough for Garrett to visit on Sunday. Garrett always listens wide-eyed as he hears his dad's voice on the phone. Thanks for the continued love, support, encouragement and faith/prayers. We can't tell you what a difference it makes. Have a good weekend!

Much love and gratitude..............Tanya and co.
