Comin'
Home
Hey!
Good news on the home front! Jade's outta the hospital
tmrw (Fri) as long as the rest of tonite and tmrw
morning go smooth.
We would have never guessed he could be discharged
this early. We were both hoping by mid-next-week earliest.
He had a horrific week last week but since Sunday
he has done amazingly well. Mon his white count was
.4 and Tues it was 2.4 and Weds it was 9. Safe enough
to consider coming home. Weds he started on food again
and Thurs night he had his TPN (nutrition through
his line) removed. While everything isn't perfect,
he is in good enough condition to be released! Yeah!
Can't say how happy we all are!
Jade (and all of us here at home) will have to be
extremely careful with infections for the next few
weeks; actually the next few months. The quick version
of "What happens now?" is that Jade will
get the next couple weeks to recover and get some
strength back and then be ready to received Jared's
stem cells about the first week of Sept. We'll have
Dr appts a couple times a week to keep tabs on how
Jade is doing. Today (Thurs) is day 10 (I had it a
day off when I did Tues' email) and he will receive
Jared's stem cells between day 30 and 42. The determining
factors are how his counts are doing. But the tenative
schedule is the first of Sept. Hopefully getting Jared's
stem cells will be outpatient but there is a high
probability Jade will have a few more hospitalizations
(whether brief or extended) in the coming months.
We'll give ya' more details about all that later but
for now.................He's comin' home! So happy.
We are so grateful for your faith, prayers, encouragement
and hope. I truly believe it has made a major difference
in his recovery. Thanks also for the massive amount
of birthday cards. Jade was quite touched and loved
reading through them all tonite. What an outpouring
of love and kindness. Thank you for your help through
this first phase. Very grateful. We are planning on
a quiet wknd with a lot of family time for the 3 (+
Sadie = 4) of us.
Thank you again. Take care and we'll keep you posted.............
Much love..................Tanya and co.
