T minus one week

Hey there. It's Tues night and hoping to sleep soon. Haven't emailed since last Weds so here's a lot of info! The concert on Friday night was really a wonderful event. Jade and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and stayed till the end. It's the latest Garrett's ever been up - but well worth it. Jade did ok that night but he really had low energy levels after being harvested last week.

Monday morning we did the interview with Good Things Utah (local ABC talk show) and in the afternoon Jade went to LDS for his pulmonary function test, echocardiogram and CT scan. The CT scan was supposed to be a high resolution one but the radiology dept screwed up and did a regular one. (Our Bone Marrow Dr's are deciding whether to re-test or not.) The CT scan did not show any tumors or abnormal growths which was very encouraging news. Even if there was a small one, Jade is going to have a final lethal dose of chemo beginning one week from today. We got a call late Fri afternoon asking him to plan on entering the hospital Tues the 22nd of July rather than Weds the 23rd of July. Today we had lunch and made a few remarks at the West Jordan Rotary Service Foundation meeting. It was a nice opportunity to thank them for all their help the past few weeks.

Jade is hoping to get in a few more fun things before entering the hospital in a week. We're both ready to get it going but scared at the same time. We're going to dinner together (alone!) on Sat and that'll be really nice.

The basement is getting close to done! Carpet was installed Monday, electrical work was done Monday and plumbing will be finished by Friday! Yeah! I'm very happy and quickly trying to wrap up other odds and ends with the basement prior to next week. It's great to be getting finished with it.

We'll keep you posted with how Jade is feeling and how next week goes. Thanks for your continued love, support and encouragment. We're so lucky to have such good family, friends and neighbors! You're wonderful. Take care............

Love.............Tanya and co.
