Hmmmmmm

Hey there. It's Tues night and I have been quite delinquent in trying to get this update out. Many of you probably think we're in week two of chemo but Jade was given this past week off. Yeah! His doctor wanted him to have a week off to let his body rest - - eat, sleep and enjoy life and remember why you're fighting. It did Jade wonders to have a week off. It seemed like Christmas came early! He spent about half the week with his family and then he, I and Garrett had a few fun days having lunch and trying to play - - despite the torrential rain we had last week.

We were also taking some time to research other chemos/clinical trials and see if there was anything better but for now we're sticking with the same irinotecan and temzolamide. The doctor said the chemo regimen Jade is on is just "cruel." We'd both agree with that. But in the meantime, Jade started up chemo yesterday as Day One for the next two weeks.

I've attached a picture of Jade, Garrett and me from last Sunday the 24th. We went to Gardner Village (a cute little collection of shops here in the Salt Lake Valley - - food, crafts, spa, etc.) and took some fall-ish pictures for Christmas cards. It was a lot of fun and even though you can only see Garrett's face, his expression leaves me at a loss for words. (Of course, I'm biased as his mom but I love that you can tell Jade and I are both smiling and Garrett looks so content.) That picture for me is the visualization of a quote I love.....

"We do not remember days, we remember moments." - Cesare Pavese

How true it is. Moments are the memories.

Well, big sigh at the end of the day. It's still extremely hard to live with a foot in both worlds. Sometimes you think you're doing ok and the next minute you realize how far from ok you are! But, still trying.

Thanks for the love, kindness and friendship. We are grateful and so appreciate your faith. Take care and have a wonderful Halloween! Save a couple bite-sized Snickers for me!

Love ya.......................Tanya and co.
