Updates on Jade & Sadie

It's Monday and so yes, that means we've been to the oncologist. In addition to our appointments today, Sadie went to the vet. (Garrett has three of his four molars coming in and set a new personal best record for crying two hours straight. Yes, it's been a full day.)

Here's the scoop, they drew her blood and won't have results back for another day or two. They trimmed her nails (look great), checked her hips (fine) but definitely something wrong in the right front leg (where she's been limping). Not sure if there's a thyroid problem, diabetes (doubtful) or arthritis. We'll find out more in a day or two. We'll keep you posted on how Sadie is doing.

Now, onto Jade, the other patient. He also had a blood draw to check his counts. His white blood level is ok (not great, but ok) and red blood counts and platelets were low. His hermaticrit was critically low. He has to go in tmrw for a transfusion (two units) and then is going for a pulmonary function test (breathing) that was previously scheduled. He was also given a Procrit (yes, the drug we've all seen advertised on TV) shot to help his hermaticrit level. Weds morning is his bone marrow biopsy and then he gets Thurs off. He is planning on attending the auction for a little while on Fri as long as his energy holds up. Jade is actually feeling ok today by comparison of the previous two weeks. It's been a fairly rotten two weeks. Even Sat was pretty rocky. Finally by Sun afternoon he was starting to turn the corner and today has been ok.

It's late and there's a whole other battle waiting to be fought tmrw and I need to get some sleep. Thanks for everything. Hopefully we'll have more news soon...................Take care............

Love..............Tanya and co.
