Doing Pretty Good

Howdy everybody. It's Thurs morning and we're doing pretty good all in all. Jade's having a fairly quiet week and just resting and trying to get some energy/strength back. He should be "bottoming out" with all his counts today and tomorrow and then start to climb up again.

We are now beginning to get firm dates set as to when his harvesting (stem cells) would be and when he would go in to the hospital for the auto half of the transplant (LDS Hospital for the week of chemo to kill off his remaining bone marrow, given immune sypression drugs and then given his stem cells back). Hopefully his harvesting would be the first or two week of July and then like the third week of July he'd enter the hospital for that month. Before Jade's next round of traditional chemo (week of June 23rd) he has a list of tests which must be done for "staging" to see if any of the tumors are growing or detectable. It is very encouraging to have the next part of the process beginning despite it being somewhat intimidating.

The fund raising is going very well. This Fri, June 6, at the Hollywood Connection in WVC, KZHT 94.9 is hosting a weenie roast for $5 a hot dog with all the proceeds going to Jade. KZHT has been talking about Jade just about every morning for the last week or so. They are promoting the bracelets made by Deputy Sampson. The Texas Roadhouse in Taylorsville is sponsoring a lunch on June 14 from 11 to 1 with all proceeds going to Jade. Keep checking the website for more details but there will be door prizes/raffles/auction items during that two hour window and the entire lunch crowd will probably be supporters of Jade. Robert's motorcycle ride is coming up on Sunday the 8th. Hopefully we'll have good weather. Oh, and my brother reports the golf tournament was a smashing success. They are still getting the final numbers tallied from the participants collecting their money, but it looks like we'll be over $5,000 from the golf marathon in Dallas! Wow! That's terrific!

We're hanging in there. Sadie has even stopped throwing up. She's still going to the vet on Monday though. We'll go ahead and include her update along with Jade's blood counts on the Monday email. Thanks for all your faith, prayers, notes/emails/voice mails, encouragement and all around hope. It is so wonderful! Take care........

Love.....................Tanya and co.
