Day 84

Happy Post-Thanksgiving/Pre-Christmas Weekend. We have had a really nice holiday wknd. It's Friday night and we are putting our Christmas tree up. Just put Garrett to bed and got Jade hooked up to his magnesium infusion so I thought I'd write a quick note.

Jade had his blood tests (including chymerism - the Jade/Jared percentage) today, chest x-ray and his CT scan. We'll find out more about those results on Monday. They also conducted another graft vs host test on his eyes. The nurse took a piece of litmus paper and pulled his lower eye lid down placed it in and had Jade shut his eye. Repeated the same thing on his other eye and had him sit there for five mintues. We'll find out the results of that on Monday too. The chymerism won't be back for another week though. Jade will go in to the BMT clinic Monday for his exam and a pulmonary function test. We have two more taper days with his cyclosporine (immune suppression drug) and we'll be done by Dec 5th. Wow - it's coming fast.

We are definitely in the holiday mood at our house and enjoying some of the fesitivies. We'll probably go on rides and look at lights so Jade isn't out and about. Garrett and I will have the tough duty of probably eating most of the goodie plates made by neighbors, but we all have to do our part! Hope your wknds are nice! I know I sound like a broken record but we feel very grateful for being able to spend the holiday as a family. Much to be grateful for this year.

Take care and hopefully we'll have a little more information on Monday afternoon. Happy Holidays!

Love....................Tanya and co.
