Vaccine

Hey there..........what a week it's been.

Not with stuff with Jade though.....with my pathetic body having a severe reaction to a pneumonia vaccine. Garrett and I had our flu shots on Mon and I also had a pneumonia vaccine to help protect Jade this winter. Good night Gracie has that been a nightmare. Today they finally put me on steriods and an anti-biotic and informed me to never, ever get another pneumonia vaccine during the duration of my life - - this one was bad enough and the next one would be even worse. There are lots of fun medical/physical things I could inform you of from this week, but I won't bore you with details....we'll just move off of pathetic me who can't tolerate a simple vaccine and move onto to Jade.........

Jade had his weekly check-in with the BMT clinic on Wednesday. It was a fairly normal check-up. They are quite pleased with how well he's doing all things considered. His counts are all ok and they are keeping things status quo for the next week or two. Continuing to do magnesium infusions at night and staying on the same level of cyclosporine (immune suppresion drug) for the time being. Day 56 will be on Halloween and they should do another chymerism then and start to take Jade off the cyclosporine. Depending on graft vs host disease they will take him off 1) all at one to induce graft vs host or 2) taper it off to hold off severe graft vs host. The rash Jade had has gone away since they took him off Bactrum (anti-bacterial) but started him back on it after this last appt.

So, all this email consists of is really that Jade is doing good at Day 42 and my body is bizarro since it can't tolerate a vaccine. Other than that.....we're doing ok. Jade has taken a couple drives up the canyons and went on a short hike on Mon. We feel very fortunate he's healthy enough to do this.

Hope all is well. Thanks for the emails, cards and phone calls/messages. Can't believe we've been living this life for seven almost eight months now. Amazing. Thanks for your help, encouragement and love. Take care and good luck getting Halloween costumes and trick or treat candy ready!

Much love.................Tanya and co.
